We missed you and we're so glad to have you back!

Its time to go back to basics and play with our founding members and real life friends! Pain is back after a hiatus during heroic firelands and Eften is back after his break after heroic hof!

We're now back to 5 founding members, 3 members who have been with us over 2 years, 1 on her second tier with us and a new recruit to make this an awesome team. Time to gear up those tanks!

Dabu is looking for a long term member for our 10 man raid team. You can read all about our philosophies under our "Guild Policy" link. However, there are a few things to keep in mind. Our goal is to clear tiers, we have a lighter schedule but we want to progress. This means you need 95%+ raid attendance. We raid three nights a week on a 9.5 hour schedule. If those times do not fit your schedule, we will not be a good fit. We also understand that real life always trumps a game and we don't expect you to raid with us when you leave for a vacation or have an important event coming up.

We're a tight knit team. Most of us have met in real life and we enjoy each others' company. We go by first names, we know about each others' lives and we communicate effectively. If you're looking for a guild you can grow with through many, many tiers, this is probably a good place for you.

Most of our success comes from the fact that we all work together. All of us contribute to the guild so that we can progress in the most effective way. This means as a member here you will have access to: gems, feasts, potions, flasks, repairs, enchants, BIS items, and anything else you need to make our raids successful. One of our members makes profession leveling kits that can take you from 0-600! We use loot council because we realize its not just about the gear, but about gearing who we need in order to kill the next boss.

There are other ways we have awarded our raiders and casual members. After we killed Heroic Ragnaros, we farmed the boss for roughly 14 weeks to get every raider and casual member the mount. We then sold the kill to people on our server. The extra gold funds were given to raiders.

If all of this has sparked your interest, we'd love for you to come apply. We're looking forward to the next heroic bosses and we need the perfect 10th to fill out our roster.

12 Bosses Down.

We finished normals at rank 289 US, the highest we have ever been!

The first week of 5.2 was a bit over tuned. We had no issues with the first or second boss, but the third definitely gave us some difficulties. Luckily, Blizzard realized they used the wrong model on Council and we came back this week to one shot the first three bosses. We also adjusted our strat on Council by zerging Sul down and moving on to the empowered bosses. This helped us with a cleaner kill.

We had taken a few looks at Megaera the first week of release and came back the second to one shot it as well. There are many good things ahead and we hope to push forward and get closer to a full normal clear! Videos are below.

Fast forward a week (third week of 5.2 release) and we one shot our first attempt on Iron Qon, took a few tries on Twin Consorts and got them down. We managed a kill on Lei Shen our next raid (even though we considered wiping that attempt!) and finished at our highest US ranking.

Heroic Wind Lord is down!

Our first heroic Heart of Fear kill was Blade Lord. The fight wasn't that much different than normal, with basically only one new mechanic. Once we managed to get tighter on our stack for the unseen strike, we were able to kill the boss. Click read more for the kill video.

Our most epic kill video for Heroic Will can be found after the jump. We're not sure how we managed to kill it. One person was down for 90% of the raid. I soulstoned... myself. So much crazy (and so much funny we had to edit in a previous wipe), but we did manage the kill. The video is full of laughs and we had a great night of raiding.

Update: Heroic Spirit Kings are down! This is definitely the hardest heroic we have encountered this tier. Everyone had to communicate, be aware of their surroundings, and move together. Only one more to go until a heroic Mogu'shan clear! All of our videos can be found after the jump.

Dabu successfully killed Heroic Elegon in 10 attempts! We had a great week of raiding killing two heroic bosses in one week. Thanks to all of our raiders for a job well done.

Terrace of Endless Spring Normals Complete

Terrace of Endless Spring: 4/4 Normals

Through disconnects, afks, and holidays we managed to clear the final bosses in normal mode. Out of the three instances, we felt this was the easiest. Terrace of Endless Spring had pretty simple mechanics. The nicest aspect is the lack of trash within the instance! We want to say thank you to Reckd from for helping us out on the first three kills. One of our tanks had to miss a night due to work and we were lucky enough to have him fill in for us! Videos can be found after the jump.

We also managed to kill Protectors of the Endless on normal elite mode after two tries. Looking forward, our next goal is to conquer Heroic MSV. Hopefully we have some better luck with internet connections and scheduling! As always, let us know if we can be of any assistance in any of the bosses we have killed.

Goodbye Khadgar, Hello Muradin

Hi (or perhaps bye) Khadgar!

This comes a little late, but we still want to say goodbye. As you probably already know, the decision was made last Monday to transfer off of Khadgar. We first want to start off and say that we really did enjoy being here. All of the guilds and the community have been nothing but nice to us as we have progressed from BC through MOP. This was a tough decision to make being here so long and having so many friends outside of the guild. The question we’ve been asked the most is: why did you leave?

Well, there are several answers to this question. When we became the top horde guild on Khadgar, we were never really trying for it. Dabu started with a group of real life friends who just wanted to game together, without pressure. We finished DS and the Cata expansion pretty strong and with that came expectations. Our group is older. We have individuals with careers, school, starting families, and other commitments outside of wow. Sometimes we can only manage to get together to raid twice a week, even though we have a three day a week raid schedule.

This is definitely okay with us, but its also not an ideal schedule to compete with the best raiders. I think we felt the pressure to kill more content at a faster pace. The last thing we want for any of our members is to feel stress. So, we decided as a team to change the pace and start fresh where there were no expectations. We did a lot of research on other realms and what they could offer us.

Finally, we settled on Muradin. This was for a few reasons. First, they have a better alliance/horde ratio. This means we can actually have opportunities at Galleon. (Side note: The day after transfer we actually had a Galleon kill!) Second, the economy on the horde side was better. Third, we could compete with other guilds who raided at more of a casual pace. We checked other prominent guild’s websites to look at their schedules and their tier finishes. We didn’t want to come to achieve server firsts (in fact there is a 2 month cooldown on any server first achievements…) but we wanted an opportunity against guilds that had more of a ‘semi-hardcore’ schedule.

We will miss all of the people we have gotten to know here and we’ll still be cheering for you from Muradin. We hope you can understand our rationale for leaving and wish us the same back! Please feel free to continue to use our site. Even though we aren’t on the same server we can still keep in touch and discuss the game.

Hurricane Sandy!!!!!!! Two of our raiders lost power and one is still without it. Our thoughts go out to those effected by the storm. While we weren't at full strength, we were still able to get in some quality raid time and down a couple of bosses. We will update our progress as we continue to advance through HoF. Mogu'Shan 2/6 Heroic Feng

This fight feels easier than a lot of the possible Stone Guard combinations. If your guild is stuck on SG's skip over them and head for Feng. We had a pretty easy time with this boss and believe it is well tuned for the second heroic encounter. A little bit of fine tuning, good team work on shield and you can be downing him in no time. Mogu'Shan 1/6 Heroic Stone Guards

Dabu downed the Heroic Stone Guards last night with the combination of Jade, Amethyst, and Cobalt. This line up is probably the easiest to encounter with Jasper out of the picture. Early on we were making this encounter far too difficult as we were sending way too many runners creating massive amounts of unnecessary raid wide damage. We fine tuned our strategy, sending only two tile runners sub 75% securing the kills with a little good RNG. We had a great week of raids and look forward to attempting Feng next week. Below is our kill. Sadly my auto repair addon was either broken or disabled which prevented me from repairing every time we dropped a Jeeves. I start the fight with broken bracers and finish the fight with bracers, chest, and legs all broken. I'm also slowly getting accustom to playing elemental so I'm making mistakes. None-the-less, Dabu worked together to snag our first heroic kill of the expansion. Enjoy.

Mogu'Shan Vaults: 6/6

Mogushan Vaults released Tuesday but we began raids the following Wednesday. For all of our success the previous week with leveling, we faced some challenges on our first night of raids. Since beta, Blizzard has definitely increased the damage/healing requirements and hit points of the bosses. Every raider must be alert and know when to pop their cooldowns. On our first raid night, we had two people disconnect and one DPS who had to leave early for a previously scheduled vacation. Continue reading and check out boss kill videos.

We only got about two hours of raiding in. Because of this, we managed to kill only The Stone Guard.
We came back Thursday and killed Feng the Accursed after a few tries. Then we tried out Gara’jal and continued to meet the enrage timers. We crunched some numbers, came back Saturday and killed it in three tries after correcting the issue by two healing. Not enough can be said this tier about the synergy of our healers. They work extremely well together and our team as a whole has never been stronger.

Last but not least, we tried out the Spirit Kings. On our sixth try, we secured a kill. The majority of our raiders felt that this was the most fun fight out of the four we have encountered so far. We’ll be going back before reset to check out Elegon and hopefully Emperor. The damage requirements seem extremely high and we need to better prepare ourselves on the mechanics of the fight. Thank you to all of our raiders for overcoming the obstacles this first week of raiding (the disconnects, emergencies, and reschedules) and continuing to be a team and stick together. We’ve said this before and we’ll say it again: raiding is only as fun as the people you raid with. This expansion will be incredible for us because of the people.

Prefers a high-level World of Warcraft player over a Harvard MBA

John Seely Brown is an old guy. So what he know about World of Warcraft except that his reaction time is over double the majority of the player base? As it turns out quite a bit...this is not your standard greybeard. JSB is one of the premier intellects of our time. Having written hundreds of papers, he holds numerous degrees from colleges and universities in multiple countries. My personal affinity for him comes more from his continued dedication to education and education reform.

But enough of the opening credits...let's get to the story.

Raiding...and specifically high level raiding is much more that simply a handful of friends getting together to push buttons to kill pixelated dragons. Recently, JSB spent six minutes to describe his above thesis....that he'd hire a high level WoW player than an MBA from Harvard.

These are some very insightful and thought provoking comments -- now if only I could put a link to my WoW armory page on my resume without getting laughed at by a potential employer. Who knows?...he/she may play too!

For us, the worst fight in the game. Why? Jumping platforms for 12 minutes is equivalent to watching paint dry. The fight doesn't really have anything exciting about it, so its easy to lose focus. Comparing Heroic Rag to Heroic Deathwing is laughable. Rag had that epic end boss feel, while this felt mediocre at best. Anyhow, congrats to all of our team! Whether you put in time on the boss or mats in the bank, this tier wouldn't be doable without our members. Thanks to all of you for making this expansion a success.
